Welcome to Shepherd King, a neighborhood church in Harmony Hills affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Shepherd King was established December 18,1960, back when it was located on the outskirts of town. Now it sits amidst the bustling and busy near north-side of San Antonio, just beyond Loop 410 near North Star Mall. Harmony Hills Elementary, Eisenhower Middle, and Churchill High School are all close by; the congregation looks for ways to be supportive of the schools in its area (collecting school supplies, mentoring students, offering camp during the summer). Our life together revolves around Sunday worship, fellowship and learning, working together for the good of congregation and neighbors, and prayerfully seeking God’s guidance. Shepherd King folks are young and old, longtime Lutherans and newly baptized, some more traditional and some more progressively minded but all of us one family in Christ. There is life here. There is hope. There is community. There is music and fun, challenge, comfort and care.
